So after I had a really good laugh at the instructions that came with the system that are directly translated from the original Japanese... "Appoint the ink cartridge changed button on the computer". Um, OK I'll get right on that...
The YouTube video is a little more helpful (although the narrator appears to be dyslexic and confuses left with right) and the online PDF gives some useful information as well. However, the documentation directs you to place the ink tanks at the same height as the print head in order to keep the continuous flow - continuous. But it doesn't give clear instructions or a photo to illustrate how to achieve this and what that would even look like.
The tubes leaving the tanks are at the bottom: Is this the area that we are to line up with the printing head? This arrangement doesn't seem to work for me - lots of air in the tubes and no ink flow. I tried lining up the bottom of the tanks with the top of the ink cartridge assembly (where the ink tubes meet the cartridge assembly and got slightly better results. Elevating the tank slightly higher than that eliminates the air but the PDF warns that this location could lead to ink loss. There needs to be some clarification from CISinks on how to locate the ink tanks for optimum performance.
I like the idea of this system but the directions are a frustrating disappointment. I've posted another topic detailing other problems I've had. Hopefully, someone will be willing to shed some light on these very important issues. I'd really like to be a repeat customer and recommend the system, but so far....
