When you receive a toner or drum from our company, occasionally there might be issues that will come up. We will work our hardest to resolve the issue before it becomes serious problem.
There's instances where the print quality of the cartridge might not appear good. Or you might encounter a full page full of ink. Sometimes you might even encounter blank pages.
The first thing to do when you encounter these issues would be to check the toner cartridge and make sure that the tabs at the front and the side of the cartridges are removed. Do not shake the cartridges hard as that might damaged them internally and will not work properly in the printer. If quality issues occur, check the internal of your printer. You might want to consider cleaning the corona wire and beam to drum mirror (check your user manual). If you notice any ink internally, try and clean it out if possible.
Inspect the toner cartridge and make sure that there's no toner powder leaking anywhere externally. If it is, then the cartridge is most likely damaged. In that situation, you may contact us and we will work out a replacement for you.
Before installing any new cartridges, it's recommended that you reset your current or new drum unit. There's different ways of resetting the drum units for these Brother printers. Below is the most common method.
Make sure that the machine is turned on.
Open the front cover.
Press Clear or Clear/Back on the control panel. NOTE: The layout of a control panel differs depending on the model, but the Clear or Clear/Back button is located on the right side of the LCD screen(most DCP, HL models)
Do one of the following.
If your Brother machine has a numeric keypad:
Press 1 to reset the drum counter.
If your Brother machine doesn't have a numeric keypad:
Press the Up Arrow Key to reset the drum counter.
When the LCD shows Accepted, close the front cover.
You may also consult with your Brother user manual to learn how to reset the drum unit for your specific model. If you reset the drum and you have the same issues with multiple cartridges, then the drum unit might need to be replaced.
If anyone has any more to add to this, please do so. If you have any other issues, post them here and we will figure it out. Thanks for viewing!
