When we run the nozzle check, the black is missing bits.  When we print, the print is 'liney.'  We've done the Spike Cleaning and re-run the nozzle check and nozzle cleaning with no improved results.

Don't know if this matters, but when we run the nozzle check, the black 'pattern' is always the same, IE: The missing black parts are always the same missing black parts.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello There,

I know exactly what it is that you mean when you say that the nozzle checks are the same. I've had that problem before with a printer that wasn't in use.

The Artisan printers with a scanner bed usually have tubes running from the cartridges onto the print head. You would more than likely need to use a head cleaning kit and clean the heads manually. Since the tubes run from the carriage to the heads, then it takes longer to normalize your prints.

Use the head cleaning kit on all nozzles and after that run about 20 full color pages to fill the tube inside of the printer with ink and let the solution run down. After you print the pages, run a head cleaning and run 20 more pages.
