I was wondering if there is a video available for installing a CIS for the MG5520. I saw the video for another MG series printer, but that one had a cassette something-or-other that was noted as no long able to be accessed when installing the CIS and stick-on bracket. However, with the MG5520, where that casette thing was is where the paper actually comes out during printing. So there's no way to mount the little square bracket onto the front of that as it needs to fold down for printing. So I'm really confused.

I tried watching a video from another CIS maker but since its a different setup and parts, it doesn't help as he has all of these custom brackets and holders and whatnot. So while we have the cartridges sitting in the printer at the moment, we're a bit at a loss how to proceed and where to stick on the different bar's and little square thing that came with our kit, lol.

Another question also when sliding the cartridges left and right to make sure it can move freely and not kink during printing, unlike the older MG printer model in your video, the 5520 we notice is an extremely, extremely tight fit moving it by hand and end up needing to use needle nose pliers to get it out of the left and right sides by hand. Is this anything to be concerned with? We saw one video where a guy purposely broke the plastic off the side of the carriage, but I don't know if such an extreme maneuver is really needed for the MG5520 or not.

One last thing as well--compared to other CIS kits for the MG5520 that we've seen in videos, we noticed on the actual cartridges that come with a CIS system, there is a small clip attached to hold down the tubing coming up off of the cartridges making things lower profile and efficient. Was there a reason why CISinks left such a thing off their CIS kits that everyone else appears to have pre-installed automatically? Just curious...

Thanks for any help,

Would be the link above be the video that you watch? On the last few second of the video we actually show a different way to route the tubes that place them on the right side of the printer leaving the center space of the printer free. Also I do not recommend that you break any part of the printer off as this might void the warranty of the printer. The MG5520 and its other models wouldn't have the white clip for its CIS kit since the pedestals that cover the sponge when you transport the kit is bigger than the cartridges so the spacing would actually change once the pedestals are removed, unlike nozzle type cartridges where they do not need pedestals to cover the cartridges openings
